Integrated Programme in Kindergarten-cum-Child Care Centre
Introduction
Since 1978, Hong Kong Christian Service started providing integrated services for children with special needs. We are one of the first organisations in Hong Kong to provide "Integrated services for children with disabilities in kindergartens and child care centres". At present, we provide a total of 72 integrated programme places in 7 nursery schools.
Purpose and Objectives
- Provide early training and quality care for children with special needs in nursery schools so that they can learn and grow together with other preschoolers
- Ensure children with special needs have holistic development in all aspects, including physical fitness, cognition, language, social emotions, self-care, as well as maximising individual potentials
- Provide children who have been assessed to have special needs with various supportive learning models such as "Individual Support", "Group Support", "Class-based Support", "Integrated Learning Curriculum" and "Daily Life Application"
- Different models are applied based on each child's uniqueness, differences and abilities, which facilitate their integration into school life and everyday life at ease
