"Make a Wish Come True Program" Introduction

To help the underprivileged make their humble wishes come true, Hong Kong Christian Service has been launching the “Make a Wish Come True Program” since 2008. Over the past nine years, wishes of more than 2,000 families/individuals were successfully fulfilled.

The program aims at generating greater concern from the community for the needy and raising funds through direct donations from individuals and corporations to help eligible applicants from low-income or single-parent families and those who are elderlies, children with special needs, disabled persons and ethnic minorities, to make their humble Christmas and New Year wishes come true.

We sincerely invite you to join us at this Christmas to share the festive joy and blessings with those in need! With just a small donation (ways of donation), not only could you help the needy to get what they have been longing for, but more importantly, you could also bring them hope and empower them to go forward.

Wishes collected in 2017

This year, over 300 wishes have been collected from our service units. Here are just a few to share:

  • Uncle Kwong, 88 of age, loves playing the piano which helps uplift his spirit. He even learns playing the piano and song composition by himself. A brand new electronic keyboard would greatly enhance his mainspring in life.
  • Being the family's bread winner, 45 years old Mr Wong would like to repair the air-conditioner in his mum's bedroom so that she could live more comfortably.
  • 24 years of age Ming is deeply moved by his father's unconditional love for him even though Ming has been a longtime drug addict and is hugely in debts. To express his care for and gratitude to his father, Ming wishes he could get a down quilt vest for his father who works overnight daily.
  • With a meager family income, aged 17 Anna wishes to buy a pair of sports shoes for her younger sister to delight her school days.
  • Having inadvertently discovered his great interest in cake baking, 17 years old Hayden decided to pursue his career as a dessert master. He wishes to get an oven for home practice, a spring board to his dream.
  • 14 years old Serena wishes she could get a wheelchair for her ailing and immobile mum so that she could take her to the open air more often.
  • Cissy's father is a terminal cancer patient in unstable condition who wishes to enroll 11 years old Cissy with some interests cum daily living programs to enhance her self-help skills and to broaden her interest bound.
  • 5 years old Ching Ching wants to get a board game to play with her 2 elder sisters and her long-hour-working mother to foster their family relationship.
Use of Donation

Funds raised will be used to help our service beneficiaries make their humble wishes come true. The year end surplus will be injected into the HKCS Service Development Fund to develop and render non-government-funded services for the disadvantaged and neglected.
