CS Daily─Opportunities for the Elderly Project: Connecting Three Generations Cooking Competition

Three Generations Cooking Competition

Inspired by international cooking competition programmes and the teaching kitchen concept, our Un Chau Neighbourhood Elderly Centre (UCNEC) organised 'I Can Do It- Connecting Three Generations through Cooking Competition' in August, subsidised by The Social Welfare Department '2022-2024 Opportunities for the Elderly Project'. On that day, seven three-generation families used specific ingredients to make exquisite cakes within a limited time. The competition's purpose is to build quality parent-child time, create positive heartfelt memories, and enhance intergenerational interactions. Some elders shared, 'This is the first time in my life that three generations compete and cook together!', 'Usually when we go home from restaurants, everyone just watches their mobile phones and TV. It's been a long time since we chatted and laughed together, and made cakes!'
