Introduction
Soul Net - Mental Health Support Scheme for the Elderly aims at providing follow up and support for elderly with mental health needs through early screening, early identification, and early intervention to improve their mental well-being. It also strengthens the support for those in need by promoting collaboration among cross-sectoral stakeholders.
Objectives
- To enhance elderly's awareness and management of own mental health conditions.
- To facilitate the development of a mental health friendly community for the elderly.
- To equip and strengthen the capacity of stakeholders and caregivers of supporting elderly's mental health in the family and community systems.
Service Target
- Elderly aged 60 or above living in Kwun Tong district
- Elderly caregivers who have mental health needs
- Stakeholders and community members within the district

Early identification and support for elderly with a tendency towards depression
Establish a mental health friendly community for the elderly
Community education and promotion
Adopting a community-based intervention model to raise awareness of elderly and community members.
Volunteer training
Training volunteers to acquire knowledge on mental health and crisis intervention skills.
Community stakeholder alliance
Establish a "Declaration on Mental Health for the Elderly" to enhance support for elderly with mental health needs and their caregivers.
