In view of the growth of the ageing population of ethnic minorities, their long-term community needs cannot be satisfied by existing elderly mainstream services due to language barriers and cultural differences. "Home Care Support Service for Ethnic Minority Elderly" Project has been launched for 2 years from November 2024 to October 2026 with generous support from the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund, Kerry Group and Oxfam Hong Kong.
It aims at recruiting and training full-time and part-time multicultural care workers to provide home care services for needy ethnic minority elderly. Meanwhile, the direct service experience will be shared to mainstream service providers to enhance their competence in serving ethnic minority elders.
