"Wah Hong Home for the Elderly" (WHH), situated in Wah Fu Estate in Aberdeen, is the first elderly hostel in the public housing estate. It has been providing residential care services to seniors since 1968. In order to meet the service needs, it was converted to a 40-capacity home providing a continuum of care in 2014.
With the core value of Continuing Care and People Centeredness, we actively apply the self-efficacy approach and the use of gernotechnology in taking care of seniors.
The aim is to facilitate and maintain seniors' health and encourage them to enjoy life. Also, we facilitate connection between seniors and their family members, allowing both parties to enjoy familial love.
Applicants can approach respective Family Service Centres, Medical Social Service Units, District Elderly Community Centres, Neighbourhood Elderly Centres or Social Centres for the Elderly or Integrated Home Care Services Teams for referral. Arrangement of provision of service for suitable applicant through interview and assessment by The Standardized Care Need Assessment Mechanism for Elderly Services of Social Welfare Department.
Residents can apply for exit from our service in writing at least one month before the withdrawal.
Fees will be charged according to the guidelines set by the Social Welfare Department.
Providing temporary or short-term residential care for the elderly in need and support service to carers. Fees will be charged according to the guidelines set by the Social Welfare Department, and applicants can be referred by district service units.
